About the event
With brightly shimmering irredecent wings Jewel Beetles have been celebrated by many cultures around the world for centuries. They can be seen in the adornment of clothing, jewellery and accessories, visual artworks and sculpture.
Join me in my historical beachside studio for a hands-on experience in preserving these magnificent creatures.
During this event you will be guided step by step in the pinning process, learning about the tools needed and techniques to using them. No previous knowledge is required for this class and you will leave with your own three ethically sourced jewel beetle specimens, entomology pins and pinning board.
The duration of this class is approximatly one hour but may vary due to ability. After preparation specimens will need time to dry and set before mounting (in a frame for example) which you will be able to do at home should you wish.
