Old Portsmouth, Studio 10, Hotwalls Studios Point Battery & Barracks, Broad St, Old Portsmouth, Portsmouth PO1 2FS, UK

About the event

This is a beginner taxidermy mouse day class (falling on Halloween!) in which we will take the preservation process from skinning through to mounting and positioning the specimen. No previous knowledge is required and you will end the session with your own ethically sourced taxidermy mouse mounted on an oak base to take home with you. The specimens for these workshops have been sourced ethically from pet food suppliers and were not killed for the purpose of the workshops.

This is a naturalistic class. However, if students wish to bring Halloween themed anthropomorphic items to attach to or pose with their mouse they are welcome to do so. All equipment and specimens are provided with no experience necessary. Please be aware that the duration of the class is an estimation which may vary based on ability.

To ensure maximum tutor interaction for students, class sizes are kept very small with a maximum of just five students.

The Location
