About the event

Join me in my historical beachside studio for a class in traditionally preserving an ethically sourced rabbit's foot to create a charm widely believed to bring good luck. In this session we will take a preserved skin and work step by step to create a charm you will take home with you. No previous experience is required for this workshop.

The Location

The Historic Hotwalls Studios are located in Old Portsmouth, nestled within a series of 16th-century former artillery workshops. These atmospheric buildings, once used to defend the city, have been transformed into a vibrant creative hub. Now home to a variety of artists and makers, the studios offer visitors the chance to explore expert craftsmanship, watch live demonstrations, and purchase unique works of art. With breathtaking views over the Solent, the location blends rich history and contemporary creativity, all set against the stunning backdrop of the waterfront.

How To Get Here

Public Transport

Portsmouth Harbour railway station is an approximately 20 minute walk away, providing access on lines via London (Waterloo), Southampton, Brighton and Cardiff.

The Hard Interchange is an approximately 20 minute walk away which offers bus and coach links (including National Express) and a connection to the city’s Park & Ride service.

Broad Street is on the number 25 bus route which runs between The Hard Interchange and Eastney Lifeboat Station.

The seafront along Old Portsmouth and Southsea is a popular area for residents and visitors to enjoy a leisurely walk. Much of this route forms a part of the Millennium Walkway, a 2.6 mile walking trail from Portsmouth Historic Dockyard to Southsea Castle. The route is is marked by a stone chain-link motif in the surface of the footpath.

By Bike

There is plenty of cycle parking available on Broad Street between Hotwalls Studios and the Square Tower.
